What tackle should be used for Snook and Mangrove Snapper fishing?
Where do these fish usually hang out
these fish dig structure like mangrove trees, jetties, and submerged rocky areas.
Snook are notorious for their gill plates and heavy leader material is a must.
Mangoes are picky sometimes, but are generally smaller than legal snook.
I use flourocarbon leaders (80 # for grouper, 50# for snook, and 20-25# for snapper) and my line is usually a top brand mono (50# for grouper, 20# for snook, and 12# for snapper).
